"DT"

Five rounds for time of:
155 pound Deadlift, 12 reps
155 pound Hang power clean, 9 reps
155 pound Push jerk, 6 reps

This is a hero WOD, which take their names from service personnel killed while performing their jobs.  Honor the fallen by bringing your "can-do" spirit and refraining from complaint.  Scale as needed.

DT-th.jpg

In honor of USAF SSgt Timothy P. Davis, 28, who was killed on Feburary, 20 2009 supporting operations in OEF when his vehicle was struck by an IED. Timothy is survived by his wife Megan and one-year old son T.J.

I saw this on the main page and it looked good. Nice to see it here. For those of you that missed DY's little gem last Friday find time to fit it into your schedule, it was a beauty!

Now, I don't want to seem rude but how does one get a HERO WOD named after them? Obviously they pass away while on the job but do they pick what WOD they want named after them if they die or does someone make one up for them? Are they avid CF'ers before their death? Who selects who is "worthy" of a HERO wod?

24:41 @ 155# - scaled to power cleans instead of hanging power cleans. Yann gave me 30 minutes to get it done and I wasn't sure I could finish for a while.

Yann, I know Micheal murphys "murph" was a workout he and seal team 6 were into doing while deployed. Since it just requires a pull up bar, they could do it in the desert. They talk about it a little bit in his book. I'm not sure about how the others came to be, but they sure do fire me up
